"Congratulations, You've Made The Playoffs" - Kevin Stefanski To The 3-8 Browns

**I do want to be clear that this clip comes from Hard Knocks, which was released AFTER the Browns lost to the Broncos last week. So the speech does come from talking to a still-in-the-hunt 3-8 Cleveland Browns team, not a dead-in-the-water 3-9 Cleveland Browns team.

Anyways, I can't decide whether I love or hate this scene of Kevin Stefanski announcing to a team of confused looking faces that they in fact just made the playoffs. I think I love it? The Browns are having the most embarrassing season in recent memory....and that includes both our 1-15 and 0-16 years....and Kevin Stefanski is congratulating them on making the postseason....? Now the dumbs of the world won't really get it (and I see that in the replies), but the smarts of the world realize what he mean: if you win out, you're in. Playing in the playoffs means lose and you're done, and sitting at 3-8, the playoffs start now for Cleveland. Because if you can rattle off 6 straight wins, at 9-8 , you're in. But as soon as you lose once, you're done. So you want in? Win.

Now, again, that was before this....

Maybe that's why this was such a good game? A playoff matchup!

Either way, I thought this clip was most interesting because I've always wondered how coaches and teams stay engaged when they fucking suck. Now obviously, they're all still working for their next contract and I'm sure that carries a huge weight of why they'd continue to grind, but like.....how do you watch extra film and put in the extra work when you're 3-8? When the entire league is focused on the playoff picture and you're hearing that your team should be tanking? So yeah, I thought this was a great spin zone from Stefanski. Although now I need to know what his message is at 3-9 and sadly, no longer in the playoffs.
